In May, Joe traveled to the rainforest of Belize to shoot for the spinoff series House Hunters International - Off The Grid. The concept is the same as the original show, only the homes viewed have no traditional utilities or city connections. All electricity is solar, all water is rain catchment. This particular shoot provided some unique challenges aside from those that come with shooting in the jungle for a week. Power for equipment (charging batteries mostly) and crew had to be addressed, as well as food and supplies. Our hosts were awesome and the local help gave us the freedom to really dial in and produce some great images and, of course, sound! Look for the “Better in Belize” episode later this year on HGTV.
